EB Games sold me a DS game with no shrink wrap?
ok i bought a “new” game from EB games, or electronics boutique here in canada and it wasnt in that tight plastic wrap like most games. it was cooking mama for nintendo ds. anyways does that mean it was opened or even used? do some places sell the games without the plastic wrap? all it had was a circle sticker on the side of it saying if torn and u wanna return u only have 14 days to do so, and also a sticker on the front with the price on it. please give me ur input, thanks.
Being a former employee of Gamestop, generally the rules are the same, Yes your copy was opened, but only for display reasons, there is a employee policy allowing them to test the game, but management supervise everything taken in and out of the store and if the product was damage the employee is told to pay for the damaged product(Plus it help in determining if you even want to buy game you don’t know about)..The second reason is that the companies that make the game don’t give out free display because it isn’t cost effective..The final reason is loss prevention which should be self explanatory.
Off-Topic:The return policy is kinda funny in the Handheld area, since it generally harder to copy a Gameboy Cartridge or UMD and you’ll also notice the sell value of all the handheld don’t drop as fast…
PS: The employee policy doesn’t apply to PC games…
