Oak Burl

How rare is Burled oak?
I have 6 pieces of oak pins Cuy my backyard (deciduous tree). Burl is great, and I had to cut and remove. Pieces weighing 6 lb.s to 55 lbs. So, bigger is big enough. Can be used for woodworking and woodturning. I read that oak is rare pimples and I'm curious to see how rare and that the pieces could be useful. The grain is amazing – the colors range from oak blonde traditional bed, purple and dark grain lines. There are a ton of character in each piece. Interestingly, it is inside the bark some pieces, leaving gaps and holes, etc. I hope some wood known "experts" can provide feedback. Thank you.
Burl The wood is a type of wood used by artists to create sculptures and other items such as clocks and even some forms of furniture. Burl wood highly prized by artists because of their unique shapes and ring patterns. Burl wood is a type of rapid growth, abnormal growth found on some trees. Burl wood growing because the tree has experienced some kind of environmental stress or damage. This is often caused by either a fungal attack or an attack by insects. The number of trees that produce burl wood is quite low. In addition, certain areas tend to create more burl wood than others, because all or most trees in a particular location are likely to be attacked by the same fungus or insects. Some species have also tend to be more susceptible to attacks and, therefore, more likely to develop burl wood. For this reason, certain types of burl wood are more rare and prized than others. Often, a tree that has developed burl wood is still very healthy. In fact, many trees with burl wood can continue live for many years. Other trees develop burl wood offshoots that are so large and heavy that they create additional stress on the tree and can cause the tree to die. When used in carpentry, burl wood is removed from the tree, preferably after the tree is already dead, to avoid killing the tree. It is then cut open to examine the calendar inside. Sometimes a single branch in burl wood can produce several different pieces for an artist to work with. Some branches develop burl wood rings steady growth which merely at an accelerated pace. This type of burl wood is not as sought after by artists like other forms burl wood, because the patterns on the wood are not as interesting to watch. The majority of artists prefer burl wood working wood that grows in irregular patterns that contain points of the vortex and are designated as eyes – small, which grows on wood. While pieces with unusual reasons are the most desired form of burl wood, they are also more difficult to work. This is because the irregular patterns of burl wood make it more difficult to saw, chisel and cut without splitting the wood or accidentally cutting it in the wrong direction.
